Opened in 2006 in response to a critical shortage of veterinary medicines in Zimbabwe, Medi-Vet aims to provide local veterinary surgeons with a continuity of supply of essential drugs. Owned and run by two Zimbabwean vets, Medi-Vet intends to close the gap between first world standards and the current status of veterinary practice in Zimbabwe by availing newer, safer drugs to local veterinary practitioners and animal health professionals.
Medi-Vet is situated 30km from Harare in the tranquil foothills of Arcturus where it is divided into Wholesale and Retail sections. The Wholesale caters for licensed veterinary surgeons, whilst the Retail outlet supplies animal health products to local communities and countrywide through our online delivery service. Medi-Vet also caters for Dangerous Drugs Licence Holders by supplying medicines and equipment used in game (wildlife) capture operations.
